Art Shell was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1983 to 2006, finishing his career as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders.

He was the head coach of the Los Angeles Raiders from 1990 until the 2006 season, during which time the Raiders went 49-47-0. During his career he was a head coach for six seasons. He was fired from the Raiders on Friday, February 3, 1995.
Shell was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1989 after his playing career.
