    Shea Weber studies the walls set up in the Surfing Heritage Foundation, where his father’s life is captured in vintage photos, vibrant advertisements and retro surfboards.

    Dewey Weber – who died nearly 20 years ago – was more than just a longboard stylist known as the “little man on wheels.”

    Weber was a CIF state champion wrestler who was a favorite to make the USA Olympic team before a dislocated elbow changed his course.

    He was one of the top surfboard manufacturers in the ’60s, who along with his head shaper Harold Iggy created boards like the Weber Performer – still the company’s top-selling model today, as well as being the top selling surfboard of all time.

    Weber was also a master marketer who never missed a chance to put his brand in the spotlight, putting his surf team in bright red shorts and team jackets.
