CAIRO – 4 September 2018: September 2018 this year marks the 7th anniversary of the death of singer and actor Amer Mounib, and his would-be 55th birthday.

Below are a few facts about Mounib, in his memory:

• Mounib was born in the Dokki district of the Giza governorate on 2 September, 1963.

His grandmother is late veteran actress Mary Mounib. The late artist moved in with his grandmother in the Shobra district and often went to theatres with her to watch her preparations behind the curtains. The artist’s grandmother died in 1969 when he was only six, and he eventually moved in with his father.

• Mounib was a very smart student, and excelled during his academic studied.

He was appointed an assistant at the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University, and later pursued his PhD in Australia.

• The late artist often sang songs by the late singer Abdel Halim Hafez, until he reached stardom through m
